Prior to joining the Hong Kong Centre for Mental Health, Dr. Matthew Chung provided school-based educational psychology services to numerous primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong, offering support in learning, behavioral, and emotional health to students with diverse needs, including those with special learning requirements or requiring additional assistance. Academically, Dr. Matthew Chung received the Dr. Geraldine Mao-Ng Prizes in Psychology from the University of Hong Kong, recognizing his academic achievements and research. His clinical and research interests include neuroscience, attention training, achievement orientation, and learning motivation.

 

Service:

Learning ability and psychological assessment (intelligence, giftedness, dyslexia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism, emotional and behavioral problems, etc.), consultation and report writing.

Discuss with the school how to provide support based on students' strengths and weaknesses, and suggest learning and adjustment strategies.

Design and deliver treatment plans and behavior improvement programs

Training for teachers and parents

Assist schools in identifying and assessing students with special learning needs.

Improve the school inclusive education development plan
